Godaddy, the domain registration and hosting powerhouse has recently made a new acquisition, ManageWP. ManageWP is a WordPress site management tool that allows user to manage multiple WordPress installations from one dashboard.
It now seems that Godaddy intends to integrate this with their own existing WordPress functionality. Godaddy is one of the largest hosts of WordPress sites in the world. This will bring a host of new features directly into the dashboard for those who already have Godaddy WordPress Hosting.
“GoDaddy already has a mature WordPress hosting product, and it made much more sense to further develop it as opposed to doing it from scratch (although you’ll miss out an exciting new pricing model we were planning for our hosting, it would require 3D glasses for full shopping experience). With GoDaddy we’ll be able to tightly collaborate with experienced hosting veterans and provide a hosting solution that works perfectly with ManageWP.”

The good news for those not using Godaddy hosting is that ManageWP will still remain a freely available WordPress solution.
The fact is that many people have more then one WordPress installation. The ManageWP plugin allows for you to access and manage all of them from a single location. This means you can update plugins and themes, install new plugins or themes, as well as post, backup sites, clones new installations, and even do security and performance testing from one central panel.
One of the nicest features of this acquisition will be the integration of this directly into the GoDaddy web management panel. This will essentially do much to make GoDaddy a one stop shop for those users looking to setup a WordPress site.
While ManageWP is not the only WordPress management plugin out there, it definitely counts as one of the best. I am sure GoDaddy offered a rather nice price to ManageWP owners to get them on board. This now makes GoDaddy and ManageWP as the largest WordPress management system on the Internet.
